Chef Dominique Williamson, an accomplished chef, has a deep appreciation for the culinary traditions of the deep South. Growing up, she enjoyed a wide range of classic soul food dishes, including biscuits and gravy, creamed corn, and sweet, moist cornbread. After transitioning to a plant-based diet, Chef Dominique was determined to find ways to continue enjoying her beloved dishes without relying on animal products. Through extensive experimentation in the kitchen, she has developed a unique approach to veganizing traditional Southern cuisine.
In 2018, the concept of Vegan Hippie Sol was conceived with the goal of promoting a vegan lifestyle to a wider audience. The company was officially founded in 2020 with the mission to eliminate the negative stereotypes associated with veganism and to make plant-based options more accessible to everyone. Vegan Hippie Sol is fully committed to providing 100% vegan, affordable and made with love products to our customers.
Dominique has curated a selection of delicious and healthy plant-based recipes for the cookbook "Vegan Hippie Sol". The cookbook features a variety of traditional southern dishes such as smoky sausage biscuits and gravy, BBQ pulled "pork" sandwiches, Philly cheese steaks, coconut creamed corn, sweet agave banana cornbread and more. These recipes are rooted in Chef Dominique's deep southern heritage and have been adapted to provide a healthier alternative to beloved childhood favorites.
